What areas can be treated?

Flat or sunken cheeks can be plumped, and the cheekbone area can be lifted with the aid of JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC. The robust gel filler is approved to reduce the appearance of age-related midface volume loss.

How Juvederm Juvéderm Voluma™ works:

It’s a hyaluronic acid-based filler. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in your body, giving your skin elasticity and helping you hold water in your tissues. Juvéderm Voluma™ contains sodium hyaluronate, which is used to promote hydration of the dermis – or middle layer of your skin. The gel is injected into the midface area with minimal discomfort, creating an opportunity for younger-looking results that last up to two years with optimal treatment!

What can I expect during my Juvederm® treatment?

During Juvederm injections, each syringe contains 1 ml of Juvederm Voluma. It doesn’t hurt as this cheek filler contains lidocaine to minimize any discomfort during the procedure. However, you may feel a slight pressure as the thin cannula needle is inserted just below the surface of the skin. Once Juvederm Voluma is injected, the results can be immediate.

What happens after Juvederm treatment?

Immediately following Juvederm therapy, there may be mild bruising and swelling that will resolve in about a week. You can resume your regular activities immediately following Juvederm treatment. However Juvéderm treatments are not guaranteed to last forever! In fact, Juvéderm lasts up to 2 years with optimal treatment. So you need to get Juvéderm re-injected every two years or so that way you achieve consistent results that will continue to make you look younger for longer! We recommend seeing our dermatologists at least twice a year for this Juviderm injection.

Are there side effects?

Juvéderm injections are generally well tolerated with typical Juvéderm reactions including temporary redness, swelling, and/or bruising at the treatment area. Some people experience tenderness or firmness around the Juvéderm injection area which usually resolves within a few days after injection.

Do I have to stop taking aspirin before my Juvederm appointment? It is recommended although there is not definitive evidence (aspirin may increase a chance from bruising). For more information, consider contacting us through our website or giving us a call at your next convenience.
